“Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!” Psalm 150

And that’s exactly what the congregation of the Manchester International Church of Christ did! We rejoiced. Our 25th anniversary service was a service to remember.10608290_10152786827824435_5876733975707142654_o

Our recently re-vamped venue revealed the prolific skills and hard work of many brothers and sisters who took part in painting the walls, creating photographic artwork and scriptural based art that adorned our walls. It combined to remind us of the wonderful God we serve and added to the sense of festive celebration.

We were blessed to have special guest speaker Malcolm Cox who preached a message on God’s love and how He lavishes His love onto us. 1796929_10152786828499435_6258924054551716338_o

We were also encouraged to see some dearly loved old friends, and brothers and sisters from Leeds, London and elsewhere whom we had not seen in a while. It was incredibly special to worship together as one again.

After the service we enjoyed a special buffet that we all contributed to; a delicious array of jerk chicken, jollof rice, quiche, bolognese, cakes, Sue Anti’s famous and much loved homemade scones and a whole host of other delectable treats, all reflecting the richness of cultures and backgrounds within the Manchester church.

Throughout the Bible God reminds us to remember Him and His good works. The Manchester church enjoys a strong identity and history, we are family orientated and bonded in love by God’s Grace; we want to remember how God has worked in our lives.
